KTLA caught the entire incident… except the vehicle in question.
And that is some of the shittiest video shooting I’ve ever seen.

Man struck and killed by LAPD squad car responding to call
Wednesday, December 11, 2002
(12-11) 06:49 PST LOS ANGELES (AP) —
Two police officers were injured Wednesday after their squad car struck and killed a man running
across a street, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. in the Crenshaw district as officers were responding to a
back-up call, police spokesman Jack Richter said. The officers attempted to swerve their car to
avoid the pedestrian but hit him. The vehicle then struck a retaining wall, spun around, and crushed
its rear end, authorities said.
The identity of the man was not immediately available. Police said both officers were taken to an
area hospital where one was listed in serious condition and the other had minor injuries.
The early morning crash is the fourth this month involving law enforcement responding to crimes in
Los Angeles County. On Dec. 3, an infant’s arm was severed when a fleeing car hit a family’s vehicle
as Los Angeles police officers chased an attempted-murder suspect. Four days later, two police cars
were damaged when a drunken-driving suspect rammed them at the end of a high-speed chase in Lancaster.
On Monday, two Los Angeles County sheriff’s patrol cars racing to a carjacking scene collided with a
third deputy’s car and two vans at an intersection. Two deputies were hospitalized and a third
deputy was treated after the accident. Three people had minor injuries. The carjacking suspect was
later found and arrested.

A man sleeping on a sidewalk was struck and killed by a police car that went out of control as two
officers were responding to a call for backup early Wednesday, authorities said. Both officers were
injured.
It was the fourth law enforcement-related crash in Los Angeles County this month.
The dead man appeared to be in his 40s and may have been homeless, said Officer Jack Richter, a
Police Department spokesman.
An autopsy was under way and the coroner’s office would not release the man’s identity pending
notification of relatives, said Lieutenant Mike Riddle, a coroner’s spokesman.
The officers’ car spun onto the sidewalk and crashed into a wall about 5:30 a.m. in the Crenshaw
district, Richter said. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
One officer was hospitalized in serious condition with abdominal injuries. The other was treated for
minor injuries and released.
On Dec. 3 an infant’s arm was severed when her parents’ car was struck by a vehicle being pursued by
Los Angeles police officers in an attempted-murder case.
Four days later, two police cars were damaged when a drunken-driving suspect rammed them at the end
of a high-speed chase in Lancaster.
On Monday, two Los Angeles County sheriff’s patrol cars racing to a carjacking scene collided with a
third deputy’s car and two vans. Three deputies and three civilians were injured.

Slow drivers NEVER cause problems on the highway. You can’t drive too
slow. From which it follows that the driver was actually a speeder.

Just when you think Judy couldn’t possibly say anything dumber than

That’s the delusional world of judy; nevermind that the sloth in Scott’s
story (1) was obstructing traffic, (2) aided and abetted (sp) a fleeing
criminal (IMO), (3) was driving with willful disregard for the police
officers and their safety and (4) committed vehicular assult against the
officers resulting in their injury (again, IMO). *BUT* he was driving
slow, so that makes his actions OK in the eyes of the moron known as
"judy…"
Just my own little delusion, but I sincerely hope that some of those two
cop’s buddies did a Rodney King on the sloth. He deserved it.

And what does this have to do with the incident in question? What
you’re pasting happened over 3 years ago.

LOL!
*Again* you prove your reasoning powers are on the par of a slug’s. I
guess that’s what you get for trying to take your nourishment entirely
from your bath house buddie’s semen. Speaking of your bath house
buddies, they still respect your 3" micro-weenie, loser?

Perhaps sloths think at the speed of "DUH"?

To "aid and abet",one has to have specific knowledge that they are aiding
and abetting.Just blundering in the way is not "aiding and abetting".

Puzzled. I read the whole thread and didn’t find it. Sloth implies
slowness. Where do you get any indication that he was slow? I suppose
you could stretch it a bunch into your ‘situational awareness’ but…
There muist be a better term than sloth for a person DWHUA (Driving
With Head Up Ass). No, I am not proposing that one, it is too clumsy.

Only an incompetent retard would pull out in front of emergency
vehicles, or in front of vehicles moving at a high velocity. And sloths
are usually incompetent retards. Hope this helps!

The two stories demonstrate the instinctive tendency of CA LEOs to scapegoat for their own negligence.
Every witness interviewed by the local media disputed the PD’s first story, so the story changed.

Slow drivers are usually slow mentally too. So that explains why you think
it is ok to be slow.

All I see in your statements of the incident being discussed are all
examples of HUA, not sloth unless you define sloth very liberally.
MOst of the others are the same unless you also include the speed at
which they are moving.
