New Jersey posts notices at each major road entering the state
that reads "Keep Right Except To Pass" which is occasionally
strictly enforced. BTW, NJ also posts it at those points what
our speed limits are: 25 urban, 50 rural unless otherwise
posted (and urban is considered so if there are buildings
every few hundred feet from what I’ve been told).

Ga. posts that too. Does any state enforce the "slower traffic
keep right" or the "keep right except to pass" laws?
We had a protest drive on I75 a few weeks ago — they were driving
in all the lanes at the minimum speed, 40. The police ticketed
them for failure to pull over to the right when being overtaken by
traffic doing the speed limit. What they won’t ticket, however, is
people cruising in the left lane at 55.

I drive from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania often. I usually
average 75-80 mph (no flames!). The worst left lane hoggers are ALWAYS
in Connecticutt and New Jersey!

Left lane hogs deserve a pile of tickets, and the above protesters are good
candidates for caning.

Gee, imagine that. They won’t ticket people for driving the speed limit.
How awful.

They won’t ticket people for disobeying the law, "Keep right except
to pass" and "slower traffic keep right." Nobody appointed you or
any other driver as the enforcer of speed limits — that’s the job
of the police.

You say that because so little of your trip goes through the
southernmost part of New York State, including NYC and Long Island.
Drivers there hog the left lane worse than Jerzoids.
