not quite, Paul.  the vehicle i drive happens to be a favorite of
fog light boneheads everywhere!  many foglight boneheads rewire the
lights so that the foglight can be turned on without the normal
headlights.  this allows them the greatest possible chance to look
like an idiot…  driving around with fog lights on during the daytime!
i wonder if Vaso has rewired his suavacious foglights like this.

"Fog"/cornering lights have very little to do with forward vision. With well
adjusted cornering lights, there should be the suggestion of a dark band
between the bottom of the low headbeams and the top of the cornering beam. The
main value of cornering beams in non-fog conditions is the light down and to
the side. My experience is that I get better vision, *and* I do not bother/
blind oncoming drivers. Know-nothing drivers who get enraged at the sight of
any fog/cornering lights are best ignored, or avoided like mad dogs. It’s a
matter of common courtesy to keep the cornering lights well adjusted.
Unfortunately, maybe half of all cornering lights are misadjusted, which
"reflects" even on responsible drivers.

Peripheral vision is useful in its own right, and adds to the total amount
of correlated driving information.

cornering lights are completely different beasties, Vaso.
they are lights on the *side* of the car.  your "use" of fog lights

except that you have your fog lights lit *on purpose*.  this makes you
a malicious, hatwearing, boneheaded helium-breathing nudnik driver.

the California State Insect.
