This is not exactly the answer fo rthe question above. I read an newspaper
article several weeks ago about the number of "lemon" complaints for some
car manufacturers. Saturn has received the least number of lemon complaints,
approximately 1 in every 3500 cars it sold. Following Saturn is Infinity, Lexus,
Caddi, Honda, and Toyota. The last one on the list is VW. It has ~1 in every
30ish cars (don’t remember the exact number the article quoted on VW).

I did not see (and could not find) the original post, so I have no
idea if it gave any context.
The important thing is that there are corporate policies on redress
of grievances that are handled through an industry-wide arbitration
panel, and I think all lemon laws require that you start there.
After that, there is a wide variation from state to state. For
example, you should not have to ask the question in Florida, because
Florida Law requires that the dealer give you a thick booklet on
the lemon law and you have to sign a receipt that you got it.
The best place to start in any given state is with the Consumer Affairs
or some similar-named agency, often in the Commerce Department. Phone
books usually have the listing in the frequently-called section for
state government.
