I thought there was an “ES” with a 3.0l 12v engine (<160hp), an
“R/T” with a 3.0l 24v (>200hp) and electronic suspension, and an
“R/T Turbo” with a 3.0l 24v twin turbo (>300hp). There may be a 4th
model between the ES and the R/T.

> R/T, to the best of my knowledge means "Road and Track".

Many people use in rec.autos.* use R/T to refer to the magazine “Road
and Track”, C/D to refer to “Car & Driver”, and M/T to refer to
“Motor Trend”.

>That is; the car is street legal, but it is a healthy competitor on
>the racetrack. Dodge uses R/T on a lot of its cars to designate the
>top of the line version. (On sports cars).

It could also be a designation from the old days: Radial Tuning. When
radial tires became popular, some manufactures offered suspensions
that were tuned specifically for radial tires.

PS: Am I revealing my age here? I am not THAT old, really!
