Is that all?

Just heard on the news about the lates recall on Ford vehicles
including my 500.

Battery cable might rub on a frame member.  Must mean a box member as a
unibody has no frame  and.

Gas tank might fall off;  SNORT!  WTF?

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.  Looks like Ford needs to go back
to the "Quality is Job Number 1" program.

Make a habbit of reading recall notices for all manufacturers and it
    won’t seem that odd.

<MBA> No, CEO stock options is job number one and let’s cut as many
costs as possible. We’ll worry about recall and fatality costs on the
    next balance sheet. </MBA>

Quality has been Job None at Ford for many years now. That’s why I
sold all my Fords and bought a Chevy.

Neither. Post it here, and sooner or later the friendly rec.autos.driving
Ford apologist will be along to tell you all about how it’s not a *real*
problem, it’s just a PR stunt, other carmakers have problems too, etc.

The problem is, you’ll never pass up an opertunity to bash ford. But
given my earlier post, I’ll do a little to backup the point I made.

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ADJUSTABLE TURNING
LOOP (ATL) BOLTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY TIGHTENED.

    2005 CHRYSLER 300 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BATTERY:CABLES
    Consequence:
A LOOSE FASTENER CAN CAUSE AN INSTRUMENT PANEL FIRE.

    2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS
    Summary:
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH HALOGEN HEADLAMPS MAY
EXPERIENCE AN INTERMITTENT AND EVENTUAL TOTAL LOSS OF HEADLAMP FUNCTION.

    2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING STEERING:LINKAGES:KNUCKLE:SPINDLE:ARM
    Summary:
ON CERTAIN SEDANS AND CONVERTIBLE MODEL VEHICLES, THE RIGHT STEERING
KNUCKLE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING THE COMPONENT MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
    Consequence:
THIS COULD CAUSE THE STEERING KNUCKLE TO CRACK AND SEPARATE FROM THE
UPPER CONTROL ARM, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

2005 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING,
    AND CONNECTIONS
    Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.4L NON-TURBOCHARGED ENGINES
AND AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLES, THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE MAY CONTACT
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE DIFFERENTIAL COVER, POTENTIALLY DAMAGING THE HOSE.
    Consequence:
POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN
    RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.
    Potential Units Affected: 438391

And so on and so on and so on
