My wife and I are seriously considering buying a Honda del

Get the VTEC, or you’ll have fun in the sun while you get
embarassed by every car out there.

I bought del Sol VTEC 2 weeks ago & I like it! Let me explain.
First don’t sucumb to those who claim that the del Sol is not a
That said, not being a true
"true sports". It’s not, so there!
sports car doesn’t make the del Sol better or worse than anything else,
just different.
To me the del Sol is a fun-to-drive-sporty-economy-car and if you
get the VTEC it is a fun-to-drive-sporty-PERFORMANCE-OREINTED-economy-car.
NOTE: For the benifit of all readers, the 1994 del Sol’s come in
three models: del Sol, del Sol SI and the del Sol VTEC.
_Some_ salient features of the different models…

Other differences include tire size, automatic transmission

So, why did I chose the del Sol VTEC?
o Cost < $20k
]
o Practicality, good gas mileage , large trunk space
o low insurance rates WRT a "true sports car", approx 25% more than
my ’92 civic four door.
o good braking (4 wheel disk remember)
o good acceleration
o front wheel drive
o styling, [I like it. If other readers do not, remember style is

o crisp handling
o "fun to drive factor" purely a subjective measure
James, I hope you find this useful. If you have specific questions drop
me a line.

My father-in-law owns a del sol and I a miata. I like the del sol because
it is quiet, less wind going through the compartment and you can lock it
up with out as much worry. He has had no problems what so ever with the car
and is extremely happy with it. He is a sports car ethusiast and still
enjoys the car a great deal. On the other hand, it does not handle as well
as the miata or have as much power since he does not have the v-tech engine.
Overall, its a fun, safe and secure car that will give you years of trouble
free transportation.
