Use your radar detector! They are everywhere. If traffic is light, you
can expect to find them at a curve, hill, overpass, etc. If traffic is
heavy, they’ll just be sitting at the side of the road, making it worse.
Be VERY careful of changes from 65 down to 55. Be VERY careful of any
road posted at 55. They love the toll roads as much, if not more, than
    the Monster (I-4).

I had at one acquaintance of mine who got nailed by VASCAR on I-4 between
Orlando and Lake Buena Vista, so I don’t know if a radar detector is
any guarantee of escaping a ticket.

There are two VASCAR traps on I-4 that are on their way to becoming
historical landmarks:  The first is north of Orlando, at the
Maitland Ave. overpass, almost always in the northeast bound lane.
On rare occasions, they will set one up from an office building
about a mile north, at I-4 and Rt. 436.

The other legacy VASCAR trap on I-4 is at the Beeline Expressway
overpass, a couple of miles north of Lake Buena Vista, just to
say "I love you" to the tourists.  It is usually set up in the
southwest bound direction.  Most of I-4 through Orlando proper is
divided by concrete barrier and immune from VelociNazi’s.

There is also a real moneymaker on the Beeline Expressway, about
five miles east of the airport exit at the Greenway overpasses
(about 1 mile west of the $1.00 tollbooth).  They almost gave
me a ticket for the four black stripes I left in the middle of
       their precious timing marks.

They like radar on the Florida Turnpike and stretches of I-95, a
Valentine One is the best defense (of course I would never use
       one in my company car…).

Most of the dv/dt tickets are issued by the State Police on the
superhighways.  Be VERY careful at the points where the speed limit
changes from 65 to 55.  They’ll be there.  The Orlando Police are
pretty easygoing, mostly only bothering to set up radar (quite
justifiably) in school zones.  The Seminole County and Orange County
SOs are also top notch organizations, but beware of Altamonte Springs.
They write approximately ten times the number of tickets per resident
as any other jurisdiction.  An AS policeman gave me one for turning
left at a point where the "No Left Turn" sign was mown over — then
admitted that the judge would probably throw it out if I went to
court.  I did and he did.  The cop was a jerk.  Altamonte Springs
also leads Florida for the number of alumni to be convicted of
felonies, about five in the past three years.

Hope you have a good time in Central Florida.

Right you are Joel. Vascar is also used. Don’t know if GEICO has given
them any laser units . . . .yet. They also use airplanes. If you can
seem them, they may be clocking you, even if your radar detector is
    silent.
