Won’t be long before they retract the suggested punishment and make
this guy chief of police.

OTOH, would Lt. Hadily have approved this?

I don’t see how anyone could approve of this, although I wonder why we
are importing bartenders from other countries – I couldn’t quite place
the accent, but it seemed to me she was probably an immigrant from the
former Soviet Union or somewhere in eastern Europe.

Did she get an H1-B visa for that?

I’ve been cut off once at a bar.  I was pissed off because I really
wasn’t that drunk, but I didn’t lose my cool – I just drove back to my
hotel.  (I’m sure I should still be serving time in prison for that if
SADDAM had anything to say about it even though it was probably 10 years
ago and no accidents or traffic violations – other than perhaps being
close to the legal limit – occurred.)

It’s kind of funny how bars will "take responsibility" and cut someone
off, but not insist upon calling a cab for them.

That’s the point. Although on chicago CL someone saying he was a cop
claimed to have known of officer fat-ass and that he was considered a
f’up and normally worked lock-up out of the view of the public. The post
also went on to say that officer fat-ass’s father is/was a chicago cop
who worked complex financial crimes. All that  says to me if true, is
that they knew this guy was bad but kept him on the force anyway.
