The owner of Nostalgia (a British car dealing firm, that sell
lots of AC Cobras), Rod Leech (??) had a twin turbo 427 Cobra,
it was claimed to have 750 bhp. The car was for sale som years ago,
and I don’t know who owns it now, maybe it is back at Nostalgia.
The car had the registation number ‘COB 1′.

I have seen many at car shows and SAAC meets.  The most powerful stock
engine (no mods to engine) was an ERA replica with a Ford SOHC 427 cubic
motor (about 600 hp).  These engines were over the counter only during
the 1960′s and are very collectible today.  The are many other cobra
owners with modified engines that make 800 hp and up.  The Ford 427
medium riser stock has been dynoed at 580 hp (factory rating was 425
hp).  I believe the one dynoed was balanced and blueprinted to the max.
