Baseball’s La Russa arrested in Florida
MIAMI, March 22 (Reuters) – Tony La Russa, manager of World Series champs
the St. Louis Cardinals, was arrested on a drunken driving charge in
Florida on Thursday when he was found sleeping behind the wheel of a
vehicle at a traffic light, police said.
La Russa, who guided the Cardinals to the Series title last year, was
slumped over in the driver’s seat of a sport utility vehicle at a green
light in Jupiter, Florida, with his foot on the brake, Jupiter police
said.
Jupiter is the spring training site for the Cardinals.
"The SUV was in drive, engine running. Mr. La Russa had his foot on the
brake," police said in a written statement. "He was breathing but did not
respond to repeated knocking on the window."
La Russa, 62, eventually woke up and the police officers said they
smelled alcohol on his breath. He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of
suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
A breath test conducted at the Palm Beach County Jail found La Russa’s
blood alcohol level at .093, above Florida’s legal limit of .08, police
said. He was released on a $500 bond.
La Russa, long considered one of the top managers in Major League
baseball, ranks third on the career wins list for managers with 2,297.
A four-time Manager of the Year, he has won the World Series in both the
American and National Leagues.

It takes a coward to use vagaries like "most fans." If what you say
is true, you shouldn’t hide behind such shields because libel’s not a
concern. Stop being chicken, and name names.
It’s a shame you’re watering down your incisive logic like this.
Every time you dull the knife, more lives are lost because you pulled
punches. There’s blood on your hands now, too.

You are an idiot and a criminal coddler. Most fans are americans and most
americans are drunk drivers. Case closed.

As usual you don’t even address the issue of La Russa’s crime. Instead you
attack me for bringing up the subject and call me a chicken!!! HAHAHA

I hate to inject abstract thought, like math, but if "most" means more
than 50%, as "most" would agree, and most fans are americans, and most
americans are drunk drivers, then the lower bound is 25% for deadly
drivers. Your claim is that "most fans are deadly [drunk] drivers"
means that the lower bound would have to be 50%. You missed it be a
factor of 2.

Gee, and I always thought the American (note the capital letter)
criminal justice system was based on innocent until proved guilty.
But what do I know – I’m an idiot.

The Cabal (tinc) has determined that the issue you brought up is
irrelevant because it was brought up by the likes of you.
The Cabal (tinc) has also determined that you are a gutless two bit

I was referring to this comment of yours:

Or this one:

I still await objective proof of these statements. And you saying ‘Case

Faulty logic… if one can CALL it logic. MANY baseball fans are American,
but I’ve yet to see any proof that most Americans are, as you claim, drunk
drivers.
Though I am inclined to agree that Mr LaRussa will get off lightly. Luckily,
no one was hurt by his actions. Now, do us all a favor Xeton and stifle
yourself. :-p

When I was driving home this evening, I stopped at the local McShit and
got some chicken and a coke. When I got home, I dumped a shot of rum
into the coke and drank it with the "food," I got at McXeton. I suppose
that dumbass will call me a drunk driver for that…

I’ll second this sentiment: Now, do us all a favor, Xeton, you meathead,

The low IQ of baseball fans was confirmed yesterday. Callers and
interviewees on a St. Louis TV station and radio implied it was OK to DWI
if you were a sports personality. Real intelligent kooks.

Meanwhile a St. Louis television station did a poll and 4% of the
respondents thought he should be fired.

4%, eh? Either the St. Louis folks are a forgiving bunch or mostly

LOL…then explain the running engine and the foot on the brake.
I can see him explaning the sleeping to the judge and having a
loitering charge tacked on to the DUI as a result.

The "sleeping" bit could earn him a loitering charge.
