Looking at the antics of the major parties on immigration induces
projectile
vomiting. America needs a populist movement.

Today's asinine Texas news article

http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/18/1805.asp

" Texas Red Light Camera Offenses Require Imagination – Red light
cameras in Texas are ticketing motorists who had legally entered
intersections."

Apparently Texas is going for one legally questionable photo enforcement
program a day.

New Mexico State Route 494

Hi All,

Relevance. It’s one of the cornerstones of the Worldwide Highway Library.
When you click on a highway, you’ll see a picture of it along with facts and
trivia. These cornerstones are highlighted in the latest update to the
Library, New Mexico’s State Route 494.

http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com/nm-494.html

The route connects from the county-seat of Hidalgo County and skirts
southwest into a ghosttown. While you’re peeking, find out what Shakespeare
has to do w/ this photo too!

It’s an unfortunate reality, but competing websites may skimp on relevance
in the disguise of road research. For example, there’s the "American Byways"
webpage. Here’s one of their Federal Route exhibits:
http://www.americanbyways.com/index.php?catid=12

Apparently, the site has little to do w/ byways, much less the whole of the
USA!  A more fitting name for the website may be
http://ohiovalleydestinationsalongbyways.com. That would increase its
relevance, for certain.

For relevant highway photographs from the Ohio Valley, look no further than
the Worldwide Highway Library. It has the most complete collection of
highway photos from the Valley:

http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com/repository.html#oh (Ohio)

Enjoy!  Hump day is just about over, so relax and have a good one.

Cheers,

is jaybird still around?

Jaybird, if you’re still around, you might want to check this out:

http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/18/1800.asp

"Texas DOT to Install Federally Funded Highway Speed Cameras –
Despite the opposition of the state legislature, the Texas Department of
Transportation proposes a federally funded speed camera test."

would be interested in your thoughts on this…

Of course, I ASSume that police officers would not be cited under this
program.  Sort of like the Maryland state cop that sucked my windows out
at about 85-90 in a 65 yesterday, tailgated a LLBer, passed him on the
right, tailgated the guy in the number 2 lane, then cut off the LLBer
and continued on…  no lights, siren, or even directionals of course.
I’m honestly not trolling, just really bitter.  This was about two miles
away from where an unmarked cop got me for "73 in a 55" a couple years
ago – I was actually doing about 65ish and hey, whaddaya know, next time
I drove that section of road, the posted limit didn’t drop to 55 until
after he’d already lit me up, so the ticket that I originally thought I
"kind-of" deserved turned out to be complete BS…  This was also not
far from where I saw one of those big electronic signs warning me I was
in an "aggressive driving enforcement zone."  What a crock of shit.
Statie should have written HIMSELF a ticket.  I was pissed enough if he
hadn’t been going too fast I would have taken down his number and
complained (I think they put them on the cars real small for a reason)

OK, so I spent more of my post on a side rant than I did on the point I
was trying to make, but whatever…
