1961 190SL Mercedes convertible price?

How much is a 1961 190SL Mercedes convertible (with both hard and soft
tops) worth?  The vehicle is completely restored with all orignal
parts – black body, white hard top, black soft top, red leather interior.

Thanks,
Juno

What band is Ontario's photo radar?

Does anyone know what band will be used for Ontario’s photo
radar?  I think the ones in the States use Ka band … would this
be the same here?

Bonus question:  If you had the opportunity to damage or destroy
a photo radar unit and knew you could not be caught, would you?  :-)

NOTE:  I don’t have a radar detector.  They’re illegal, doncha know.
And I don’t plan on destroying any photo radar units.  Of course, I’d
never advise anyone to do that either.  My lawyers make me say this.

Need Advice — Engine Red Light

 Hi,

I’m in desperate need for some net handyman’s advice about my car.
I have an 1986 Ford Tempo with 2.3L gas engine, fuel injected.  It
performed pretty well over the years.  Recently I’ve started having problem
with the engine warning light.  I know it’s something related to either
high temp. or low oil pressure.  The temp. should not be the cause since
there is no leak in the cooling system and the following description will
   also explain this:

It all started one day after I got off highway and entered city zone
with speed limit of 40, the engine red light started to glow when I kept
driving under 40.  If I speed up above 50, the red light goes away.  Since
then (about 2 months ago),  the car runs ok in city without A/C on, but
if the A/C is on, it takes only about 5 mins. for the red light to show up.
On the highway the engine is ok driving above 60 no matter the A/C is on or
not.  So, the only problem looks to me is that when the engine is highly
loaded, the red light comes up if the car is running at low speed (below 40)
and no red light at higher speed (50 – 65).

My guess is the something in the oil pressure system, maybe some valve
or sensor is malfuntioning, but I don’t know which one.  If any netter out
there has same experience or knows about this symptom, please share it with
me.   Your help is highly appreciated.

You can post here or email me.  Thanks in advance.

How do you heel-toe?

1) Yes, I’ve been ‘standardizing’ for years, I’ve heard the term, but
what is heel-toe shifting, and why and when is it used?

2) we’ve heard varying opinions on yes/no starting car in gear. For those
of us with newer cars (must use clutch), is there any benefit to taking
it out of gear first? I realize there are suspected benefits, but I like
the quick take-off you have if already in 1st…

RE: Best Car Wax

I have found that Maquiar’s (sp?) brand waxes and polishes
are the best. They have several polishes, cleaners, scratch removers,
waxes, etc.  They are numbered in order of application.  These are
proffesional products so if you’re looking for a one step easy process,
this may not be for you.  But make sure you get the professional
versions–they also make a cheaper line.  I usually use the number 2 cleaner,
number 9 scratch remover, number 7 polisher, and the no 26 wax.  Yes, its a
long four step process but boy does it shine–even on the most sensitive
black paints.  The cleaners and polishers are great for restoring
oxidized paint.  The four step is certainly not necessary, especially
if your paint is in good shape.  The wax is a good carnauba wax so it will
work by itself–although I highly recommend at least polishing beforehand.
Also, if you have a boat, they also make an entire line especially
designed for boats.  Hope this helps!

WANTED: Blue book information — ACURA INTEGRA 90/91

Hi, all:

I am looking to buy a pre-owned 1990/91 Acura Integra and would
appreciate it if I could get the blue book (Wholesale, retail) for GS
and RS models in 1990 and 1991.

If you could e-mail me that would be even better. I’ll summarize and
post if there’s sufficient interest.

Thanks in advance.

Arjun.

BF Goodrich Touring T/A in snow?

Hi,

Consumer Reports said BF Goodrich Touring T/A was pretty
good on either dry or wet pavement, however, they didn’t
test any tires in snow due to some reasons.

If you’ve used or heard of BF Goodrich Touring T/A tire
performance in snow, please let me know.

Thanks

Laser Jammers — %100 Legal — Cheap!

Jamming lasers is very easy!

All you have to do is buy a pair of infra-red head lights and leave them
on when you drive. Detroit is going to start doing this anyway for its
nightvision systems that it is developing for cars.

They can be cheap or expensive depending on the performance you want. For
optimal performance you need to find out what the predominant wavelength
are that are used by the lasers. Does anybody know this??? Then buy bulbs
for the head lights that peak on that frequency.
