The following is offered for sale…please contact me if you want additional
information mailed to you.

1987 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo, VIN #1B3B264E1HD356924, 14,600 miles.  This
car is a SCCA SSA National winner and has had extensive setup work done to
make it a top runner.  It is perfect as a first-time racer’s car since little
involvement in car setup and performance tuning is necessary.  This car can be
used for school, regionals, solo, or converted to a HOT street car.  The
engine has been put together by Arrows and was completely rebuilt at the end
of 1990 season (the last year racing).  Motor is completely stock, no milling,
but was hand built with matched parts.  Engine has been dynoed at 158hp @ 6 psi
boost (factory stock is 145hp) and top boost is 13 psi!

Some of the options include:
        o  Autopower bolt-in roll cage
        o  Pyrotect 6-point safety harness
        o  Deist window net
        o  WINK wide angle rear view mirror
        o  General XP2000H mounted street/rain tire on factory alloy aluminum
           rims, full tread.
        o  Gray cloth interior, bucket seats.  All factory interior is in
           excellent condition, clean.  No rips, tears, or stains.  New,
           custom made, padded headliner.  Factory seat belts work.
        o  Sunroof, fully functional, bolted through roll cage for racing.

           -  Complete transaxle for long track setup

This car was last raced in the Runoffs in 1990.  Since then it was prepped for

Shipping/Driving a car from New Haven, CT to Seattle, WA

I have this large trip to make. I’ll be working for the summer in
Seattle, Washington, and I live here in Connecticut. I’d drive my car
out there, but there’s a problem- it’s a compact car, and all the stuff
I will take won’t fit, and I’d really rather not put the 6000+ (two way)
miles on the car.

So, I’m looking for cost effective (even if it takes a while) way to
get me and my car out there. I’ve basically brainstormed and come up
with these ideas. I don’t know if any of them are available or feasable,
so I’d like your, the net community, input on these ideas and other
possibilities.

  o Put the car on a boat and pick it up at the other end
  o Put the car on a train, and take the same train
  o Put the car on a rented trailer and car
  o Rent one of those flatbeds and drive it

The second option above is obviously the most attractive, but I don’t
know if it’s terribly feasable.

As I said, any comments and ideas (preferably ones that are possible!)
would be appreciated.

Attn: Honda Accord EX/LX owners

Dear Honda Accord LX/EX owners,
                        My wife and I will be very grateful if you
could help us on closing a deal on the Honda Accord LX/EX with a
local dealer in Ames, Iowa. He quoted $1500 below the MSRP on the
EX/LX. Is this a good deal? Also he has given us a few options:
Floor mats $90, Rear mud flaps $40, Stripes $69. What happens if we
don’t buy the stripes? We’ve decided not to buy the mats & flaps.
What are the other hidden costs?
I don’t read this bulletin board very often, can you please e-mail

Volvo patrol cars have been used in the Conway NH area for quite a number
of years now; about 4 years ago i was working for the legendary Midnight
Mountain road rally, and had the pleasure of being tailgated out of Conway
by one at 3am.  we gave him no cause to speak with us, and he turned back
at the city limits …

Re: Unmarked police cars

In Lincoln (U.K.) there is a (virtually) unmarked police motor bike.
It is a B.M.W. and painted maroon. The rider wears ordinary leathers.
He has got a blue light cunningly concealed in the back of the seat,
and s _small_ police badge on the side. But in your mirror etc. he would
look just like an ordinary biker.

We saw him pull someone over outside my brothers house for speeding
in a 30MPH zone in front of a school at home time ( serves him right! )
could get tricky on the motorway at 90MPH and there is a motorbike behind
you though!

This is called "defensive driving."

One good way to learn about it is to ride a motorcycle. After your first
accident, if you are lucky to escape in one piece, you learn very fast to
take into account other people [insert your favorit swear word] moves.

the right to drive

right to drive on *OUR* roads. Violate the rules of the road and you risk
losing your *right to drive* just as if you violate the rights of others
or break other laws you risk losing your right to freedom and other rights.
With freedom and rights come responsibilities.

Didn’t some famous old document relative to this subject
start out with something like *WE THE PEOPLE*………….?

Here in NZ we are not required to keep our cat. converters in place..
in fact my CR-X has no resonators, no converter, a sports muffler and
extractors, 2" pipe… I’m getting 200Kph plus and better fuel consumption
of course :-) (on the odd occasion when the accelerator isn’t nailed
to the floorboards!)
